No. DOCU SERVICES NZ (operated by GOV PAPERS SL) is a private company. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA), Births, Deaths and Marriages (BDM), New Zealand Passports, or any branch of the New Zealand Government.
No. Birth, death and marriage certificates are issued exclusively by Births, Deaths and Marriages (BDM). Passports are issued exclusively by New Zealand Passports. We help you review and prepare your request before you submit it to the relevant authority, who issues the document directly to you.
Yes. You can apply for a certificate or passport directly with BDM or New Zealand Passports yourself, paying only the official government fee. Our service is optional and charges a separate fee for reviewing your details and guiding you through the process.
Our assistance fee is NZD 75 for certificates (NZD 110 total including the NZD 35 BDM government fee) and NZD 199 for passport services (plus the separate NZD 247 government fee). See our Fees & Processing Times page for full details.
Processing times are set by the New Zealand authorities, not by us. Certificates typically take up to 8 working days to process plus postage; passports typically take up to 10 working days standard. See our Fees & Processing Times page for details.
